Advocate
As Friends, we love our
library!! We celebrate it as one of our great city resources by
promoting its use, function and importance to all ages in the
community. Friends experience first hand, the value of our library
and share it with others.
Special Funding
Through simple
fundraisers like the annual book sale and membership dues, the
Friends provide funding for special library projects that normally
are not covered by the budget. The Friends help purchase special
equipment and fund special library programs.
Programs & Events
Our library resources
impact our lives in many ways. We share these experiences through
public programs and members’ events. The Friends sponsor such
events as “Meet-the-Author,” film screenings, “Show & Tell” and
special story times. Within the wide variety of activities, there
are many ways to share talents and interests by helping make
events happen, or just attending an event that is of interest to
you. It’s up to you!
Volunteer
There are many ways that
Friends are involved in the Library. It can be as simple as
greeting people at a library program or as engaged as coordinating
the annual book sale. Imagine how YOU can help the library!!!
Here are just a few ways that
Friends have shared their time and talents by volunteering.
- Annual Book Sale
- Host and/or coordinate
programs
- Adopt-a-Magazine
- Serve treat or refreshments
- Story Time Readers
- Distribute posters
- Host an author
- Publicize events

beauty is in the eye of the beholder,
the ideal library is in the wish of its
